Our mission

EpigenFocus is dedicated to serve patients needs through the discovery, development, and transferring to clinical practice the most innovative technology of clinical epigenetics. Special priority for us is the development of diagnostics and therapies for children patients.

At EpigenFocus, we direct our efforts to develop on personalized medicine, especially for children. “One size does not fit all” when it comes tomedicine. Treatments that help some patients fail to help others, or medicines may cause side effects in only certain patients. This notion is especially relevant to children health, as children-patient population is under-represented in tailor-made diagnostics and therapeutics.

EpigenFocus brings innovative cutting edge technologies to develop diagnostic tests that help determine which medical treatments and procedures will work best for each patient. By combining this information with an individual’s medical records, personalized medicine allows doctors and patients to develop targeted treatment and prevention plans. Personalised Medicine will be unequivocally beneficial to young patients.

Science

The most crucial features of the γH2AX biomarker

  • specificity of  the γH2AX for DNA double-stranded breaks (DSBs)
  • insuperable sensitivity, as it can detect one double-stranded break in the nucleus of a cell quantification of the number of DNA double-stranded breaks per nucleus
  • repeatability and reproducibility

over 60 clinical trials have utilised the γH2AX biomarker worldwide

DNA repair test

We are developing a test to access the individual’s ability to repair DNA double-stranded breaks in their cells.

There is an urgent need in personalized medicine for the assessing the individual’s ability to repair DNA double-stranded breaks, especially in cancer patients that undergo radiotherapy or chemotherapy.

Physicians would utilise this test to render therapy more effective, with fewer side effects, as they would be able to choose the most appropriate therapeutic protocol, based on their patient’s personal data.
